Ancient Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam constructed by the Chalukya dynasty in Vemulawada of Karimnagar district, is all set for massive development and beautification.
It will be provided with all amenities for pilgrims as well as residents.
Telanagana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to develop Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam which is also called as “Dakshin Kashi” is welcomed by all sections of society.
The Chief Minister visited the temple and offered special prayers to the presiding deities along with his family members on Thursday. He inspected the shrine along with the district and temple officials and went around the holy tank, temple tank and other lands belonging to the temple.
Later at a review meeting with the district officials, the Chief Minister announced release of Rs. 100 crore every year for development of the shrine. He also announced constitution of Vemulawada Temple Authority very soon for providing all pilgrim amenities. The CM said the suggestions of Shringeri and Kanchi Kamakoti Peethams would be taken for development of the temple.
He also promised to develop the Nampalli Sri Laxmnarasimha Swamy Devasthanam on the vicinity of Vemulawada shrine. The backwaters of Mid-Manair dam reservoir would add further beauty to the ancient temple. Stressing on the need for taking up road widening works, he called upon the locals to cooperate. He also promised a Sanskrit and Veda Pathashala in Vemulawada.
