Heavy rains threw normal life out of gear in several parts of north Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh on Friday even as the India Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts across the two Telugu states in the next three days.
One person died as a house caved in at Uppatla village of Manthani mandal in Karimnagar district. With this the rain-related deaths in Telangana in the last one week have gone up to five. About 60 villages in East Godavari, Warangal, Khammam, and Adilabad districts remained cut off as streams and rivulets overflowed onto arterial roads blocking vehicular traffic.
