Students of Osmania University staged a protest on Thursday in front of the Arts College against the closure of the university mess allegedly due to non-payment of bills.
With placards in their hands, students, many who had to go without food, shouted slogans against the management's inefficiency to clear the arrears. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao recently promised to release Rs 7 crore to the college in the assembly. Almost 50 students requested Telangana State Council of Higher Education officials to look into the matter. The officials assured that the mess will be opened by Friday. They also added that if their demand is not fulfilled then they will continue the protest.
