Pista House proprietor M A Majeed on Thursday said that monosodium glutamate, popularly recognized by the acronym MSG, was not an ingredient in the brand's haleem even as he requested restaurateurs no refrain from using it.

Addressing a gathering of mediapersons, Majeed said that they don’t use MSG. Though it enhances the flavour, it is bad for health in the long run. Claiming that the restaurant, which has over 500 outlets worldwide, gave health and hygiene top priority , he said that brand's haleem has passed safety tests of the ICNAR  National Research Centre on Meat.
