India captain Virat Kohli suffered a shoulder strain on Day 1 of Ranchi Test, that required him to undergo scans later in the day. BCCI confirmed through a release that Kohli was recuperating from his injury and that relevant investigations revealed there were no serious concerns.
Contrary to reports that suggested Kohli could be out of the ongoing game and even the series, the board stated that he will continue to receive treatment that should assist his participation in the remainder of the Ranchi Test.
Kohli put in a dive near the boundary in the 40th over of Day 1 in Ranchi and was seen immediately clutching his right shoulder. The skipper went off the field then and did not return for the rest of the day's play.
