The 2017 Indian Premier League auction will be held on February 20 in Bengaluru, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement on Friday. More than 750 players will go under the hammer at the Ritz-Carlton hotel ahead of the tenth season of the marquee T20 league.
BCCI also announced that there would be a day long IPL Franchise workshop on the following day after the auction. With each team allowed to field 27 players in their squad (including nine overseas), a maximum of 76 players (including 28 overseas) can be bought at the auction to fill up the quota.
