Both the Shiv Sena and BJP have staked claim that they will emerge victorious in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation polls while the BJP has also expressed confidence that it will rule the city.

Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai told media, "We have faith, people have voted for us." When asked about tying up with the BJP post the elections, he said, Don't think it will come to that.

Mohit Kamboj, a BJP leader, said. "BJP will cross 125. Celebration preparations have already begun here. We are confident that the mayor will be from BJP."

On alliance with Shiv Sena, Shaina NC of the BJP said "BJP has 122 MLAs and we are here to stay. Devendra Fadnavis will continue to be CM of the state."  

As per latest reports, Shiv Sena is leading in 85 seats while the BJP is holding on to 52.
