Three days after Karnataka voted for a new assembly on May 12, the counting of votes cast in 222 assembly constituencies out of 224 will begin at 8 am today.
After months of hectic campaigning and back-and-forth jibes between the Congress Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD-S), the fate of the key players like Siddaramaiah, BS Yeddyurappa and HD Kumaraswamy, will be known today. All arrangements have been made for counting of votes in 222 seats from 8 am onwards at 38 centres in 30 districts, including five in Bengaluru where polling was held in 26 of the 28 segments," Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar said.
