Ruckus broke out in Banaras Hindu University in a ‘baraat’ procession after a car which was part of the procession ran over a student's foot.

The incident was followed by heated argument between students and marriage party. Police force reached the spot to calm down the heated argument between the two parties. The agitated students allegedly vandalised cars and university property. Chief Proctor of BHU, Royana Singh said “A 'baraat' arrived at non-teaching community hall and a student was hit by a car after which there was argument.
