The AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu opened all 24 pumps and released water from Pattiseema project on Wednesday.
AP govt completed this project in a record time of less than one year, the project is now ready to transfer excess flood waters from river Godavari to Polvaram right main canal to deliver the needs of Krishna at times when there is poor inflow into Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar. This year with the delay in monsoon and lack of fresh water inflow into major reservoirs, the farmers who have opted Kharif cultivation are facing a tough situation and to overcome the crisis, Andhra Pradesh CM N.Chandrababu Naidu released water from all 24 pumps to transfer Godavari water to Krishna delta. While time factor being so crucial and when the project is running out of time, the project developer Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited handed over the project in March this year to mark linking of two major rivers in the state.
