Hyderabad: Jeevan Sharma aged 24 was arrested by Jawahar Nagar police for harassing a woman on social media and sending abusive messages to her phone.

The accused and the victim hail from the same place Ramagundam. Police said that the victim met accused while she was doing her Post Graduation course and later moved to Hyderabad after securing a job in a bank.

Jeevan started harassing her on pretext of marriage and sent vulgar messages despite of her disapproval. Following which, the victim lodged a complaint against Jeevan last year. However after coming out of jail on bail he again started harassing her.

Police filed a case under IT Act. The accused has been remanded to custody and police are planning to detain Jeevan under PD Act.
