The recent announcement made by Telangana Chief Minister KCR about the 24 District Telangana has brought in a huge cheer to the people of Telangana, and if the government goes ahead with this plan, two new districts will be made from the Warangal District. Bhupalpally, a fast growing coal town, would become a separate district and the Jangaon which is center of Telangana armed struggle will be head quarters for the two new districts.
The proposal has a mixed response from people and as well as political parties, while most of them welcomed the idea and favored it and few denied. Many people hope that this may lead to a rapid growth over all. The BJP leader N Venugopal Reddy said the State government should not go by political pressure in creating new districts to suit the needs of certain leaders. It should be done by following the important factors such as population, distance from headquarters and resources to sustain as new district.
TDP district president Gandra Satyanarayana Rao told they had no objection about the new districts but the whole process should be done in a scientific manner rather than suiting the needs of TRS leaders. It is said the decision will help create 34 new Assembly constituencies. The TRS officials maintained silent as the actual process is going to begin on the issue. TRS district president T. Ravinder Rao said the district headquarters and other revenue divisions will see a fast growth.
